A two-storey wizard's library under a printed night sky.

The upper floor is a reading gallery lined with carved shelves, hanging crystals and a glowing orb at its centre. Below, a red-carpeted staircase climbs between towering bookcases, past a workbench piled with scrolls, potions and an owl. The outer side panel carries a full-height galaxy print, so the kit looks just as good from the end of the shelf as it does from the front. A touch light brings the whole library up in warm amber.

I
Ivan Stuart
An advanced build I enjoyed

I kept my workspace clear and resisted rushing. The fine details deserved that attention.

R
Roland Maxwell
Crystals overhead

Hanging the little gems gave the gallery a completely different character.

L
Linda Gilbert
My owl-loving aunt approved

She spotted the owl on the workbench immediately and asked to see the rest up close.

Evening library ritual

I touch the switch before settling into my reading chair. It's become part of winding down.

S
Sabrina McBride
Bookcase gap transformed

There used to be a pile of loose notebooks here. Now there's an entire wizard's library.

A
Ariel Owens
Satisfying shelf architecture

I particularly enjoyed assembling the tall shelving and seeing how it framed the central staircase.

C
Cecilia Rhodes
Galaxy on the outside

I display mine at the end of a row so the printed side isn't hidden.

Eight hours wasn't enough for me

I'm a slow builder and spread this across more sessions than the estimate. Lovely result eventually.

S
Savannah Neal
Deep shelf required

The height fit my bookcase, but I also needed to check the depth. Measure both before choosing a spot.

J
Jeremy Solomon
Give the crystals extra time

I liked the library overall, but positioning the hanging details required several patient attempts.

G
Gemma Mack
Staircase stole the show

That red carpet winding between the shelves is ridiculously dramatic in miniature.

D
Deborah Christensen
584 pieces of escapism

This kept me occupied through a very wet weekend in Seattle. I was almost sorry to finish.

Unusual retirement present

My dad finally has time for model building, and this gave him an enjoyable first retirement project.

Printed sky above it all

The night sky brings the tall interior together beautifully.

Worth saving for vacation

Started this during a staycation when I finally had time to concentrate. Excellent use of a quiet morning.

Amber suits the library

I'm glad the illumination is warm. It makes those tall shelves feel inviting rather than gloomy.

T
Tina Washington
Clock in a magical room

The mantel clock is an ordinary detail in an extraordinary setting, which I love.

M
Martha McClain
A proper challenge

After several simpler models, I wanted something demanding. This library gave me plenty to work through.

N
Nicholas Gill
Too intricate after work

The advanced difficulty is fair. I found it hard to concentrate on this after long workdays.

S
Scott Hobbs
Kept the cover on

The front cover is especially welcome with all those miniature bookcases to protect.

A
Alma Newton
An orb above the books

The glowing orb pulls my eye straight to the upper gallery. Such an enchanting centerpiece.

D
Dorothy Fields
A wizard needs scrolls

The crowded workbench is delightful. I imagine someone abandoned an experiment to go fetch another book.

Two levels to explore

Every time I look inside, my attention shifts between the upper gallery and the staircase below.
